Helpful Products for Indoor Gardening
The best thing about indoor growing plants is that you will have harvests even during winter. So how do you go about the process if you live in a zone 3 region?
Here are some tips to get this done properly:
1. Use Grow Lights
While you can solely rely on the sunny sides of your window, the sun is not always available all year round. Without sufficient light, your plants will grow weak and leggy.
The good news is that it’s easy to buy grow lights at physical stores or online. Grow lights can help sustain the amount of (sun) light your plants need. They will help the seeds grow into healthier and stronger plants.
Moreover, your plants will grow quicker with the aid of grow lights.
2. Light Timer
While you can manually turn the grow lights on and off, there might be days when you forget the task, or it slips out of your mind. To avoid this from happening, it is recommended to use a light timer for your grow lights. This way, they will consistently be turned on for 16 hours daily and turned off at precise times each day.
3. Heat Mat
This is not a necessary tool but can be helpful in certain instances. Heat mats will provide heat at the bottom of the containers where the seeds are beginning to germinate during the days when the temperature goes below 20 C.
Without heat mats, the better alternative is to put the plant containers on top of your fridge. This space of the fridge remains warm while the appliance is turned on.
4. Mini Greenhouse
You will find an indoor greenhouse helpful in growing seeds inside your home, especially during wintertime. It will grow plants at a quicker rate, especially when you install grow lights inside the mini greenhouse.
