Allium ampeloprasum

Leek – Giant Musselburgh

Leeks have a very mild onion taste. They are slow growing so should be started early as a bedding plant. Once transplanted into the garden leeks need a lot of water. Giant Musselburgh (C) is an heirloom that was introduced in 1834, near Edinburgh, Scotland. It is known for its huge size and winter hardiness.
