Solanaceae/Nightshades (Tomatoes, Peppers, etc)

One of the most fascinating plant families. A large and varied family with attractive flowers. Plants may be edible, poisonous, medicinal, decorative and sometimes all in the same plant! Many are tropical or sub tropical but seem to tolerate our climate well. Some of the friends you will find here are tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, potato seed, ground cherries and tomatillos. However, this family also includes potatoes, tobacco, petunias, salpiglossis, datura, goji berry and more! Most of these flowers can be found in the Flowers and Decorative plants section of the catalogue.

The tomatoes here are all listed in alphabetical order as opposed to the way they are organized in the catalogue. Also, we are adding tomatoes to the different categories as we come to know more details about each from researching and growing them so the various sub-categories are a work in progress, not all of our tomatoes are classified according to all these criteria (colour, growth habit, fruit size, usage) yet. Thanks for your patience in the various transitions taking place in our operations (new website medium which calls for a very different layout than the paper catalogue, and transitioning from father-Jim’s logical organization styles to daughter-Rachelle’s who is trying to find a balance between what the best and most useful logic is for us and our customers)!
