Green Beans

These are all bush beans and are generally listed in order of earlier producing to later producing. They come in green, purple, red, or streaked pods but all turn green when cooked. Of course all beans can be used as dry beans even if the variety is more commonly grown as a fresh eating bean. If some of your beans get overripe before you manage to eat them fresh, let them ripen and dry on the plant to harvest them and eat as dry beans, or even use for seed for next year’s garden!
